Why do men send Dick Pics?

With the advent of social media and messaging apps, interactions that were once confined to face-to-face conversations now extend to the virtual realm. However, this newfound connectivity has also given rise to a new phenomenon: the unsolicited dick pic on flirt dating sites.

Because they think it helps

The Journal of Sex Research has done the hard yards on this topic. Having conducted research involving 1087 Hetrosexual men to assess demographic information, narcissism, sexual behavior, sexism, and motivations behind sending genital pictures. About half of the men reported sending unsolicited genital images, while the other half did not.

The TL:DR findings are that they do it because they may get a sexy pics and that will lead to a steamy encounter.

You get back what you put in

Digging into the data and its at bit more nuanced. From the 1000 odd men around half reported sending unsolicited pics. While, obviously, the other half didn't. The one that did were younger. The research also pointed to them being more sexist and narcissitic but how they could test imperically isn't clear. What they did find though was that the most common reason for sending in unsolicited genital images (Dick Pics) was the hope that they would get one back in return.

It's not about hating on women.

Only 18% of men send the pics for their own satisfaction, the rest genuinely believed the receiver of the pic would get excited and feel attractive. The men were basically saying I'll show you mine. You show me yours.

That's not to say that all men are just playful little puppies wanting to show off their bones. 10% admitted that it did give them a sense of control and 6% agreed that they had a sense of dislike towards women and sending dick pics is satisfying.

There is a problem with it, but it seems only a small percentage of men are doing it for the wrong reasons. Regardless, Dick Pics are not allowed on our Flirt Dating site so keep it in your pants.
